About AMP

Association of Marine Leisure Promotion (AMP) is a general incorporated association established in October 2022 and based in Naha, Okinawa, Japan.

Our position

AMP is neither a marine-leisure industry association acting as an interest representative nor a government regulator. Its organizational records define AMP as an independent, neutral third party that connects people working in marine leisure with government, elected bodies, and related institutions.

Our guiding principles

  • Human Life First. Human life takes priority.
  • Safety and the environment. Safety and environmental protection are the basis of AMP's work.
  • Sustainable regional development. AMP's stated mission is to contribute to sustainable regional economic development supported by Okinawa's natural resources.
  • Translation and connection. AMP works to carry field knowledge into systems and policy, and to translate institutional intent back into practical action.
